Problem with two Displays!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody

It may seem stupid. But I was using my laptop in office and attached another LCD monitor to it and used it as secondary monitor(God that was comfortable) and I moved Material editor in second display.

Now i'm using just my laptop and the material editor is gone!

perhaps my laptop yet doesn't realise I don't have the second display now!

has anybody had this situation?

thnx

This happens all the time to me .

There is a setting that should keep everthing on the one monitor, but it never works for me.

I have to hook up another monitir reset to one screen, and then your good to go back to your one screen setup.

Studip I know but the only way I could get it to work.

Sorry Hope this is of some help.

write to your graphics card company, and ask them.

you can change your UI to another selection for example if you default then change to dark or grey. it will change it back to original single monitor position. but you will get different interface color. well you can always change that.

or if you use your customize UI then change it back to default.. hope it helps..

I've heard that you can change your layout (from 4 windows to 2) and back again and it 'figures' it out.

I've deleted the (I think - I'm at my day job and dont have access to max here) 3dsmax.ini and it will re-create it on the fly and will reset your user interface.

I'll double check the filename when i get off work.

Yea, I am pretty sure you can just delete the MAX.INI file and you will have all your settings set to default... OR better yet, just rename your existing MAX.INI file to something else, so you don't lose all those settings.

I also am pretty sure you can set more than one INI file, and have MAX load with those settings... kind of like in the old DOS days, you had different 'switches' to set different parameters. Not really sure if it would work, but you can give it a shot.
