tredz1
I was wondering if anybody could let me know where i could get a model of an exhibition lighting truss (preferably free). I would appreciate any help. Thanks
Ernest Burden III
http://www.formfonts.com has a series of models for lighting and staging. Maybe one of those would be what you're looking for. They're not free, but the overall cost is very little (monthly subscription with 30 model/day limit).
TheAllusionisst
I think that SketchUp has some in it's stage lighting bonus pack, I believe all of the bonus items are also in 3dwarehouse where you can download for free. Hence, if you have SU you can convert to 3DS or DWG, I am not certain of the free version of SU exports. 3Dwarehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?q=stage+lighting&styp=m&start=24 http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=586a6d91d76d3256b8a6bf04a3a3232&prevstart=0 http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=797eab90a425ec05ffe8440ffab89d5b&prevstart=24 Not certain if they have what you want, but a quick look should tell, and of course Mr. Burden is always right, form fonts has good low poly stuff and you can look first. slawnick
You can make pretty decent truss with the lattice modifier in Max; it will look great, and the poly count isn't too bad. This is particularly good if you need curved truss. Drop me a line if you can't find what you need; I've got a pile of truss!
Hazdaz
You can make truss really easily with 4 long and thin cylinders (if you are doing box truss) and an array'ed line that you've given thickness to, for the webbing. Seriously only like 5 minutes worth of work, that you can then group and then array to whatever length you need.
