Scotty T
Quote from Hazdaz… Oh... And for the love of gawd, get rid of the damn music on your web page. NO one... NO ONE wants a site to just spontaneously play music while they are surfing... especially with no warning and no way to turn it off. Tonight I need to sleep on the idea of me continuing my membership on this forum. I deal with unprofessional people every day at work; I will not take the time to visit this forum to experience it all over. We just decided to teach ourselves to make our own website to see just how far we could go with it until we generated enough revenue to have a professional developer create one for us. The music was a questionable item but we thought we may see how it goes over, just tried to seem more inviting. Did not know it was so loud. Hazdaz....I hope you do not use that kind of verbal content with your own clients. It is hard enough building a reputation in this business without someone demeaning your situation or product. This is not the first time this has happen to me or witnessed someone else for that fact so I have some thinking to do ....well when it seems worth it. Jeff....you do all you can and this has no bearing on your hard work and accomplishments. You cannot baby-sit them all. I apologize if I seemed to misinterpret your remarks but I do not have time to analyze a comment that sounds like a teenager wrote it. With respect. Why do they call common sense common? Brian Smith
it's easy to be opinionated about something you do 24/7 and are so passionate about and it's easy to take offense as you have...but nothing seems like it was said to belittle. to me 99% of the posts seem professional and even a greater % of the members seem professional. you can certainly leave but you'd be giving up the best 3d viz resource available
Nic H
Dont let it get to you Scott, sure its pretty stupid that Hazdaz could be bothered writing to you but cant you just ignore it and leave it at that? Its no big deal, I find this forum to be one of the most professional and genuinely useful forums around. Threads like this detract from that professional aspect, however I understand you being upset and someone making derogatory comments about something you have worked hard on. Scotty T
I think you are right. I again extend my apology to all and Hazdaz. I do forget some responses are not to intend negative feedback but the tone can use some improvement to prevent others from believing they are being belittled. Got to remember you cannot see the face of the responder when they write there feedback.
mahorela
I guess there are instances where people express their opinions and critiques in an insensitive way and I also see some strange posts at times......where people post one of their own similar images to show how much better they can do it than the thread creator etc. Mskin was the victim of of some particularly harsh words from another member recently. But on a forum like this it takes all kinds..........I think that we have some power here too, if someone is harshly criticising or their comments are out of line then we can exercise the right to not help them or critique their work. I would certainly get the message pretty fast that I was out of line if the senior members here stopped criticising or responding to my posts. I actually remember a post from you Brian about a harsh email that was sent to you not so long ago.......obviously the comments made about Scotty's website aren't on the same scale as that but I do see his point. There was no need to word the crit like that.
innerdream
but the tone can use some improvement That's the rub with BB's there isn't a way to tell how the comment was stated. Sometimes people read into things that aren't there. I'm leaving now, I'll get my coat.
IC
Seriously, that's nothing. I once said a member of CGTalk was being childish and I got a 3 page email full of death threats, threats to my family and accusations of all sorts of deviant behaviour. While it was the funniest, most poorly written thing I have ever seen, at the same time it was quite disturbing that someone could be so hateful and go to all that trouble over one (pretty fair and accurate) comment. Some people just have nothing better to do and take life far too seriously.

Scotty T
Thanks everyone for there opinions and advice. All of you that had input I do hold high respect for as I have followed your work here for sometime which helped my conclusion this was just a misunderstanding. I do need to grow a understanding(thickskin) on how things work on forums such as this.No matter who or what was said lets get some work done and move on. Remember yesterday was Monday for some of us and now its over I learned my lesson. With respect.
Exellite
agreed with the wording of his comment, it could have been alot more tacktfull, but I would heed to his advice though, I often play my music through my pc, and to the annoyance of my neighbours, quite loudly. To then be surfing the net and hear a loud peice of music come on without any warning can be a shock to say the least
