what about a CGA free member-upload Texture & Model Forum?

 

i know There is a list To other websites That have Free and For Sale etc

but what about a forum here at CGA where we members upload our own

 

Textures (royalty free no copyright issues)

3d Models (royalty free no copyright issues)

 

just an idea

 

or what if The download were free, but you had To subscribe To This members only upload/download 3d/cg resource Forum for a minimal fee?

 

yet another just an idea

 

maybe some kind of format rules, like minimum Texture size = hi-res

maybe a sticky post of our wishlist of Things-To-do Items That people

 

are interested in. a self-fullfilling wishlist

i got some (just a few) Textures of grass, wall = stucco, and desert skys

Randy, good idea i must say myself, think we can add a Request thingy as well

 

You post an image of a very cool design of a couch (or something) and if somebody (or more) is up to the challenge, its added to the LIB

 

but let the community decide if models/textures are goood enough to be hosted through polls ect.

 

how about if you upload 1 model/texture you can download 5 in return

(would be a good sharing rule)

They did this in the sketchup forum but it ended up being 98% "I'm looking for a model I'm too lazy to build myself / Can someone model a ____ for me?" and 2% of the posts were people sharing models. It was impossible to find anything useful. Sharing things is great, requesting things just wastes everyone's time.

great idea...just needs a moderator that will delete all posts that arent donated materials or bitmaps

just a bit under The weather This last 10 daze or so

if no one else will do it, i will volunter To help moderate

 

maybe 1x moderator for Textures

maybe 1x moderator for 3d Models
