rendering time

One of commercial complex i was working having polygon count of 3.5 lakhs render in V ray of resolution 3000 X 2250 in time frame of 20 minutes. But as soon as i applied reflection for glass it kill time nealy 2 to 3 hours in resolution of 500. Because of this i can't do test rendering. This gave lot trouble to me can anbody suggest some solution.

I have the same problem. The solution is obvious.

1. Test render on a lower size... 320*128 or something

2. Get a faster computer. Rendering is all in the CPU. Get a faster CPU.

 

I have solved it by doing my testrenders on a lower size and the final testrender i do on a Xeon 3 Ghz Dual Core machine. The final render is also on the Xeon machine.

Post an image, its much easier to help. Also, I havnt heard the work 'lakh' since i was in india and i cant remember what quantity it is. Is it 100000?

Do you have opacity maps in your scene?

Are you using glossy reflections?
