chadsmith
is there a way to render elements with out rendering the entire scene? everytime i render elements the entire scene has to render first and then the elements i choose... im trying to be a little more sophistocated about how i render so that i can get stuf out quicker and revise things faster. besides this specific question, is there a really good tutorial on other compositing techniques? STRAT
use RENDER SELECTED. also, for excellent comping and speeding up of rendering techniques, read all up about the MATTE/SHADOW material
chadsmith
I ALSO TRIED RENDER ELEMENTS "SHADOW" AND IT CAME OUT COMPLETELY BLACK... I TOOK IT INTO PS AND RAISED THE BRIGHTNESS BUT JUST GOT BLACK AND WHITE SHADOWS... NO GREY SHADOWS... IDEALLY YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SUBTLE OVERLAYS OF GREY TO CONTROL SHADOWS NOT BLACK AND WHITE. ANY THOUGHTS?
chadsmith
render selected just renders the objects selected... i want to just be able to render the shadows of all the objects but with out having to render the entire scene. so is there a way to just render all the shadows in the scene with out the entire scene rendering first? if i misunderstood please tell me.. abicalho
There's no way to render just the elements. The elements are generated at the same time a scene is rendered. Alexander
Daniel
It is normal that the Shadow render element is black (RGB), look into the alpha channel The easiest way to get all render elemnts into Photoshop as layers with all things setup right (alpha, premultiplied....) is to use psd-manager from Cebas (it exports PSD files). http://www.cebas.com/products/products.asp?UD=10-7888-33-788&PID=38 It also can create mattes for each object in your scene, so you can tweak each part of your image in Photoshop very precisely. You can save a huge amount of time with it. Daniel
