PDT_Jim
Hello, I have just finished a scene which contains some RPC trees. Problem when rendering out to .tga file. I get white-ish blockyness around the edges of the trees which is very noticable at ones closer to the camera. If I un-check the anti-aliasing setting in the render dialog box, the problem is solved but the rest of my model shows up with jagged edges and some blur in the near trees. Is there a simple way to keep anti-aliasing ON but still get rid of the blockiness around the foliage? By the way, I'm using Viz4.Thank you for reading my post, please help, have deadline! Chad Warner
It might be that you are rendering too high a resolution for the RPC's? I know that if I render anything very large, the RPC's lose their quality fast. Perhaps if you post an image we could help out more. -Chad
PDT_Jim
Okay, Thanks. I was rendering at 3000x2250 pixels to a .tga file. Can i post an image if it is 29 MB? Oops, I forgot that this problem occurs when I render at 640X480 also. It only happens with the trees. No issue with cars, shrubs, or people... quizzy
in the tga output settings be sure to check the pre-multiplied alpha checkbox..
PDT_Jim
That was checked. It also happens when not rendering to a file. Here's the image at 640x480. You can see the weird outline especially around the foliage of the tree in the foreground where it overlaps the sky background. Thanks again http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=179.jpg
PDT_Jim
Sorry for taking your time. I found a solution (I Think.) In the "render scene" dialog box, in the "anti-aliasing" section, I changed the Filter to "Plate Match/MAX R2" with filter size of 1.5. This allowed me to keep anti-aliasing active and removed those blocky outlines from the foliage. Thanks for your replies. Jim
