Hugo Franklin
I'm looking for inspiration for non-photorealistic renderings to visualize buildings or concepts. By that I mean a manner or a an abstraction that does not show building materials but focuses on volumes and light. Does anyone have a tip where to search? ikinman
You can always check out the work of non-digital renderers at either the New York Society of Renderers website http://www.nysr.com or the American Society of Architectural Illustrators website: http://www.asai.org

Tim Saunders
By far my favorite artist when it comes to stylized stuff is Iain Denby (Dibbers on the forum). He has a unique NPR twist to Photorealistic images. Here's his web site http://www.idenby.co.uk/index.html My problem with NPR images is, any time I try doing something, i find myself trying to mimmick other artists. You don't get accused of that much with realism, but I have to be honest, I have yet to find MY OWN style. I wish I could, be that NPR or not. I think finding some good NPR techniques is probably just as exciting as making cool shaders is to me. That's probably why I like Iain's work so much. He still gets the detail and fun you would have from creating an accurate shader, with the added bonus of adding his own NPR style.

Noise
Yeah Iain, I'm surprised that other people find your work good too. CAN'T SEE A STYLE !! Take the compliment and keep drawing ! You should setup some form of tutelage to impart your skills I, most certainly would be interested in learning from you as I am sure, many others. Maybe you could do it through VisMasters? Don't know how interested you are in that ?
