Radiosity appears in viewport but not in render.

Please help as I am very frustrated and have very little hair left.

When I calculate the radiosity it appears correctly in the viewport. The 'use advanced lighting' button is checked in the render dialogue window but still the final render is totally flat, the soft shadows that I see in the viewport are not in the render. When i uncheck the 'use advanced lighting' button' the image appears practically the same. The crazy thing is that this doesn’t always happen. When i get this problem I merge the file into one that works and this works some of the time. Has anyone encountered a similar problem or am I cursed?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Daz,

Before we go any further, what is your exposure control set to? You should make sure you are using something other then "none" like Logorythmic Exposure. If you can't see anything in the Exp. Ctrl. preview window, then you need to tweak the brightness settings and what not until you do see something. Don't even bother rendering until you can see something in your preview window. Once we've determined this isn't the problem, we'll go from there.
