Iain Denby
I read on another forum that if you have a dual processor you should check the 'SSE' option in the render dialog box for faster render times. I tried this with no difference in render times. I have a dual 3gb Xeon running on XP Pro. Is this right?
STRAT
Greg's answered a similar thing to this before now. i too have a couple of xeons, and even if this 'sse' option is meant to make a difference i suspect the speed difference neglegable. besides, dont be greedy, you got a xeon which are reletively f.a.f. anyway. Victor Erthal
I have tried it some time ago and it only made difference with the default scanline render.

Victor Erthal
I saw some sort of reference in the manuals, and the information is that the bigger imporvement is in shadow map calculations. Try maybe creating an enourmous shadow map task load like lots of omnis in a scene to see what happens. As i remember, it worked here.
