Devin Johnston
Back Burner is the render management software that comes with 3D Studio; it is what you use if you have multiple computers that you wish to use as a render farm. There are three programs associated with Back Burner; they are the Manager, Server, and Monitor. The manager program is what manages the render jobs, this program can be run on any computer in your network but must be active before you run the server or monitor program. The server program is run on all remaining computers and it is what allows them to receive information from the manager and render your Max scenes. The Monitor is used to watch your jobs; you can start, stop, pause, delete and re-order them as you need. It’s a very simple system but it works very well.
