Vray animation Question..

Hi,

I'm making now my first interior animation using vray, it's for an apparment (reception&dining+2 bedrooms+corridor+bath+kitchen), and my guide is the tutorial of http://www.spot3d.com:rolleyes:

I just want to ask if I can split the whole animation into several parts then calculate (the light cache+irradiance map+final animation) for each part alone?? then gathering all parts in the end?

I ask this cause if I'll make this for the whole animation it'll take very long time.

Is splitting the whole animation=the same result if I make the calculation just one time for the whole animation?

Why not consider splitting it into separate rooms, and then splicing it together using a post effect ( eg. Adobe Premier ) Then you can have more workable areas, that you can render out and then compile as one. You dont have to worry about the lighting between areas being exactly the same then.

I think thats what you are asking...

You will have to run the pre-calc for every area though.. as they are all different.

alfienoakes has it right on. split the thing into separate rooms which, by default, forces you to approach this as separate scenes. Things will ultimately go much faster for you as well.

Remember, for large scenes VRay is calculating everything - including stuff not seen in your camera view. The less you give it to calculate, the faster the output. Adjacent rooms I'd leave in, but those areas 2 rooms over I'd cut out.
