Hi guys,

Does anyone know where I can find some old DXF DWG files from Architects I can practice on? The thing is I need to get on with learning VRAY properly but I've had enough of trying to invent Architecture. I'm not an Architect and this is reflected in my invented work.

Can anybody help?

Cheers

Hi J

I´ve got a DWG model og Bagsvaerd church by Architect Jørn Utson - The main chuchroom should be excellent for practicing GI.

Also I´ve got Villa Hartmann by Le Corbusier.

Both models are from a research project at my school and perfectly legal to use.

If you give me your mail adress I´ll mail them to you.

If you want objects to put in the houses go look at the Fritz Hansen collection here:

Classic danish design Arne Jacobsen, PH, etc)

http://www.fritzhansen.com/products.asp?lang=uk&productid=60&show=6&anyphoto=1&anyinterior=1&anyreference=1

This guy has some really nice furniture too:

http://www.ultra3d.com/ - but you have to register (free)

Also chech out Turbo Squid at http://www.turbosquid.com/ - they´ve got some free models but you have to go through a lot of stuff to find good ones.

The reason I´m telling you about the furniture is because I think you really need furniture in the models to really test the renderer...

Regards

Ras

Hi James and Doron

Well - why don´t I just give you the link to the website I got it from myself. As I said it is a researchproject at my school - tjek it out:

http://www.digitalmodel.karch.dk/FRAMESET.HTM

For those few of you that do not know any danish: Press "Digitale modeller" then "download" (not much danish here, eh!?) You´ll see a list of the available models - actually they´ve made more since I was there last - it´s actually quite the goldmine...

By the way James, thanks for the mail and don´t mention it I´m glad to help.

I like the picture on the website - the fading effect is nice - where did you get that effect?

Oh - one architectural comment for that pic: It looks like it would be quite uncomfortable to sit in the chair on the left because you would have to bend your head beacuse of the slanted ceiling. If your primary customer group is architects you might want to change that... But as I said - great render!

Regards

My brother did it. He is also in to visualisation. I'll have to start posting some finished works soon. I'm basically in the process of building a rally nice (he says) portfolio ready for my lauch day! eek

I'll show you what I do with the info you have kindly passed me.
