David
Hello, Could anyone tell me how I can animate a camera path over an uneven terrain, so that the camera is always at a fixed height above ground level? (Without actually having to check every frame by eye!) And, on the same subject, I need to distribute several hundred trees over the terrain - they are all in the correct place in plan, is there a simple automated way of dropping them down to 'sit' on ground level? Hope someone can help!
vizwhiz
hi There David i Think therefore you are in luck (i think) Itoosoft http://www.itoosoft.com/ has a VIZ-ible utility called Glue which can "melt" a polyline onto a warped Terrain surface download area: http://www.itoosoft.com/english/download.html you could make a terrain z-dependent path from a polyline and then use That to assign to your camera for the camera's path and also This should work to "set" your Trees in the z-axis correctly check This out: http://www.itoosoft.com/english/news.html **** (i havent actually used This but i have heard Peoples who have used it say That it does work) and i Think that it is Free, to boot Thanks (let me know how This works for you) Randy www.viz2000.com
David
Hey, thanks for pointing out that resource, it looks superb! I've downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to use it yet (you know how this job works, the entire brief changes overnight and suddenly I have something completely different to deal with!) As soon as I get a chance I'll try this out and let you know what I think
quizzy
David, for trees you can also use the RPC_spray script, you'll find it at http://www.archvision.com, Or you can download a modified version from my website. cheers
