Ricardo Eloy
Using Max, you can try it's native skydome, but I wouldn't advice actually using it in production. Assuming you dont have acess to other renderers, you can try using the ring technique. It's very easy and effective, and there's a tut in the forum. Type "Delfoz ring technique" in the search engine and you'll find it. It's a very old thread, but still useful.
MannyG
Im not really worried about the lighting, what i want is to just have a sky. I have my model and the lighting i just want a sky. I searched the ring technique but that has to do with lighting. I tried making a sphere and just reversing the normals so the sky map is on the inside but it renders black. im on max 9 if it helps
Tommy L
You need a spherical map in the environment slot. Go to the rendering dropdown, environment, then browse for a map. You then have to drag the map into the material editor and change the maps' mapping mode to spherical. Before you do this, you'll need a spherical environment map. Search on google, try evermotion.org/net (cant remember www suffix) and go from there. To be honest, you should just go through the help files.
