What a pitty.. we have a series of VR-jobs finished... well... next year than ,-)

I think it would be a good idea to add a category for VR-interactive work. It really is different from 'regular' rendering and animation, and represents a growing trend in visualization. We might as well get out in front of the thing.

Is there any way we can see what you've been doing, Evert?

Hi All,

The deadline for this year's Architectural 3D Awards is next week and so far only 22 people have submitted images and 2 animations. Unless people start submitting their work, this is the last year I will hold these awards. Seriously people, there are over 90,000 people who come to this site each month and only 22 people can be bothered to submit. Get on it people!!

I think a lot of it has to do with the caliber of the work that gets submitted. Most people (myself included) are afraid their work isn't up to par. But I suppose I should submit a few regardless.

Which is ridiculous as this is the same answer I get from some of the top people in the world too! Just submit. ;)

That's surprises me. I'll make an announcement over at http://www.vizdepot.com/.

I think everyone should just submit. We are all in this business, why would we all be afraid? We make work, we make mistakes, so what? I just don't get the

idea of 'not even trying!' At the minimum I think we should honor Jeff and his tremendous amount of hours he puts into CGA. Submitting images is probably the only way to say thanks and tell Jeff we respect his work and effort.

I mean, Jeff won't hear it if you just get up from your chair and give him a round of applause... Just get in the ring! Submit!

Not yet... we have finished several projects on different scales now (town, group of buildings, dwelling, interior setup) but it's still pretty confidential. You'll hear it when it can be out... Should be just before Siggraph btw ,-)

I R.

I look forward to seeing you, again (assuming you're going, too).

OK, Maybe I'll submit something. I can, you know. I'm not judging this year. So I can enter if I darned well please. Some work I would want to enter is still embargoed, unfortunately. By the time I can show it it'll be beyond the entry criteria. Oh, well.

Hey Jeff, I just called and asked you when the images would be up for public viewing... the reason that we're debating whether or not to submit our KILLER renderings :D is that we're concerned release dates. Would we have to give away the name of the project prior to your selection process?

Hi Flow,

No, just put "TBA" in the sections that you can not reveal. Judging does not require the company name and project name. That only is required if you win or are a nominee.

Fret not, Mr. Jeff! I'm sure plenty of folks are waiting right up until the deadline to submit... maybe we're all trying to crash the fileflow servers. ;-) Seriously though, we're working on polishing up an animation and selecting images now. Whether or not we get selected, we'll always throw in for the opportunity.

Jeff,

another reason people might not be submitting could be the minimum image size requirements. I was intending to submit quite a few of mine. Unfortunately after looking through them all, there's only 1 I've done that's big enough! Is the minimum 2000 px dimension essential?!

What resolution can you submit? The reason we ask for hih res is that the winner's images are usually published in quite a few magazines and books, so they need high res imagery.
