Nic H
hmm I dont know of any stand alone tool for this. Max has a stl check modifer that will identify open faces and holes. However it wont fix them for you. Its easy enough to go around and repair with poly tools though.
LGM
hi guys, i'm looking for a good tool to repair and convert my 3d models to stl and vrml format or 3D printing, if anyone knows a good one please let me know. thanks Magics is the .stl editing software we use. Everything we do though first gets run through CADspan, which is a resurfacing software designed to give you a "printable" .stl file.
Phabz
I second what Jason said... Magics is great, it does a really good job with shrink wrapping the 3d model, however it is pretty expensive. I am not associated with Jason's company (LGM Model), but I have used them multiple times and they know their stuff! Also, contact them because I think they offer a pay as you go model conversion service that may be worth it. Just my 2 cents. jackb602
Actually they are in Minturn, Colorado - USA. Either way... glad you had your question answered. I love Minturn! As a kid, we used to stop at the Turntable Restaurant on our family ski trips. What a gorgeous part of the country.
lyca
Actually they are in Minturn, Colorado - USA. Either way... glad you had your question answered. I know Belgium sounds strange but, it is the case. Magics is made by Materialise and their headquarter and all the research are in Leuven (Belgium) http://www.materialise.com/materialise/view/en/107601-Locations.html?subhomepage=86848 cheers
Phabz
I thought you meant you had contacted LGM...not Materialise. Nevermind then... Jack, I've never been to Minturn, but I will take your word for it.
