dim
Hi everybody, My name is dim, I'm from HUNGARY. This is my first time here. I need your help in the following problems: I am making an animation of a flat. It has two rooms, a large one with six windows and a bedroom with two. Because of the huge memory need I have to calculate the radiosity solution separately. Since it's gonna be an animation I can't use the "Regather indirect illumination" function. I have to use the "Refine iterations" to have the speckles disappeared. It works perfectly with the small bedroom. I set the "Refine iterations" to 30, it calculates for pretty long, but the result is satisfying enough. The problem is with the big room. It doesn't matter how many percent the initial quality is(90, 95, 99%) and also doesn't matter how big the "Radiosity meshing size" is(3 cm, 6cm), the Refine iterations function seems not to work. The blue strip runs to the end in 5 secs, in spite of setting the "Refine iterations" to 10, 100 or 500. It always takes the same time without any result. It's very annoying with this room (only with this), after calculating the "Radiosity solution", either changing the view or rendering an image, the solution will be invalid. The modell is double checked, it has no fault. I know I could increase the "filtering", but I don't want to kill the fine shadows. ******** My second problem is also sunlight related. The bathroom has no windows. The nearest window is in the bedroom, 8-10 metres far from the door of the bedroom. So that, the bathroom has almost no natural light. When the sunlight is on I get this ugly result. Increasing the value of the refine iterations doesn't provide perfect result. When the sunlight is off or set to a very low level the result is fine. The only problem is that the camera comes from the bedroom, so I can't turn off the sun. Please help me if you can. Thanks in advance! Cesar R
is your model correctly to scale, as in 1:1 in max? another thing, I know you can get rid of those spot generated from the sunlight by regathering and doing a light analysis to find out the luminance from those spots and clam them. um... check to see that you have more then 12 or so rays per sample under your IES Sky. I hope this helps. if not let me know if you find a solution. id like to know. oh wait.. also try having your physical scale value set to the same value as the sun under the exposure controls.... although it sounds that U shoud regather at least a few frames until you get to the next room and then do some compositing? anyway good luck bye.
