Justin Hunt
Backburner 3.2.1 is giving me the S&$ts I can get manager to talk to monitor and server, but not to Max. - Server is giving me this error ERR Unknown command (2077656E) from 10.7.0.144 - Manager is reading failed to respond to registration request, but then connecting after I restart server - Max is giving me a "missing message" error, and not connecting to manager and freezing - Manager, server and monitor are exempt from firewall and port 3234 is open. What am I overlooking JHV

mtutaj
you need to upgrade to backburner 2007 for max9 to work. Download the latest version from the autodesk site.
Justin Hunt
Thanks for that , I thought that 2007 was for Viz2007. I'll give it a go JHV
Justin Hunt
Still no good, installed 2007 but Max is not picking up the manager. Server is giving the "Unknown command (2077656E)" message JHV
mtutaj
all slaves have 2007 BB installed? are you searching by IP or subnet
Justin Hunt
I am rendering locally, so the master is the slave (if that makes since) searching by IP, although subnet doesnt work either. Crazy thing is it was working a week ago but someone else set off a job from their machine as master and mine as a slave. since then it hasnt worked. mtutaj
ok, so right now the manager should running on your local machine the slave should be running as well with the subnet mask set with your subnet mask of your system (you can check by going to start>run> type "cmd" > then type ipconfig /all) now when you net render with max, make sure that that same subnet mask is used there also check to see if monitor is set up for the same subnet mask and see if it can connect to the server and manager. I'll still be up for a while if your still trying options forgot to ask, are you running 32-bit or 64-bit
Justin Hunt
all are using the correct subnets, monitor can see manager and server. I'm on 32-bit I turned on the degug in server and monitor. When I submit a job from max, it seems that serve and manager get stuck in a loop of pinging each other JHV
