Jeff Mottle
Anyone tested the new Parallels 3? I see it now supports 3D graphics. Looks like there is a windows migration tool too. Wonder how well it works. Jeff
AJLynn
I haven't tried 3 but I tried an earlier version and migrated a Bootcamp install, which made the install no longer bootable in Bootcamp but Parallels did work. I don't know whether they've fixed that. Parallels itself was pretty sweet. Lately I've been using VMWare Fusion as an alternative to Parallels - it has most of the Parallels features and if you migrate a Bootcamp Windows install it's still Bootcampable, so you can go back and forth (but it has a tendency to break Autodesk software licenses). Its 3D support is only an emulation of DirectX 8.1, but I'd rather boot into Windows than rely on emulated 3D. Also, it supports 64-bit on 64-bit CPUs and it supports multi-core, and it's as sweet as Parallels.
CHE
I would also like to find out more about Parallels Desktop 3.0. It would be nice to hear from someone that has tested Parallel 3.0 running high end 3D applications.
