Hey all i'm just wondering if i could get some tips on how to get started with 3dmax... i'm currently a uni student studying interior design/architecture so I just want to use 3ds max for perspectives etc (maybe flythroughs later down the track)

I did one subject at uni that gave an introduction to the program (very basic introduction)

I'm on holidays now and have been working through the "3DS max 8 Bible" from Wiley Press but i still think once i've gone through that i'll still be a bit lost... are there any online resources / tutorials that could get me started with modelling interiors?

Also if there are any specific books that are recommended on modelling interiors/architecture in general?

I reckon one of the ways to learn Max is pick a personal project, something that you designed or would have liked to designed, don't be too ambitious to start off with. It is very easy to get bogged down on complex scenes.

Have a look at some tutorials, try the 'complete projects' on 3dtotal.com, find something that is similar to what you would like to make, use these to give you an idea how to plan out your project.(these projects will also introduce you into the diverse world of modeling techniques in Max)

or for am interior project I would recommend the week20 of the visualisation insider on this site

and launch into it, search for other tutorials or ask questions here as you get stuck.
