Ok Guys

after all your help and browsing the web, i think

i have a better idea now (i think) i stick with

viz 4 and thinking of buying VRAY (basic or advanced??? for arch vis??)

What you think?

Plus i am also thinking to get a modelling

software like Rhyno (or ZFORM????) I model mainly with autocad but i think i need some extra power

for complex 3d shapes.

Please give me your opinion as i don't want to through $$$ away (and time).

Thank you

Id go for VRay Advanced, mainly because you can save and reuse GI solutions (irradiance maps). This saves a lot of time, especially with animations.

I've only used Form*Z a little, I didn't mind it, but if you are wanting a powerful and accurate modeller for complex curved surfaces and more sculptural forms then I'd definately choose Rhino.

Hi Luigi,

As I said before, I think you are doing the right move (VIZ+a renderer). And as for VRay, I also think its great for architecture. Whats nice about it too is you can grab the free, or demo, version and get to know it before you buy it.

As for a modeler. I have been working with FormZ and can only say good things on it as a modeler only tool, which you'll especially love as a Lightscape user.

Have no experience with Rhino. I know its a better windows platform application than FormZ (Interface wise) with great nurbs tools, which IMHO is an overkill for architecture.

Good luck.

Rhino is excellent for complex shapes and resolving intersections between complex shapes. but, i would only suggest it if you have situations were the model/design is already predetermined and you just need to model that design. I don't see it as a good canvas for design creation.

you can get pretty far building complex shapes right in VIZ. You can use NURBS, lofting, spline modeling (create network of splines and apply a surface modifier), box modeling with meshsmooth modifier, etc.

i'd save the cash and play around with modeling in VIZ before buying another program like Rhino or FormZ.
