dpcaltdcah
we just got some new axyz people with mocap data and are having fun playing with them. but a couple of them have a problem when you group them and them move them from their original location. this happens (see attached image) and it gets worse the farther you move them. anyone? Paul Twyman
Hey there, Go to the physique modifier on the figure mesh and in the envelope sub-object select the head or neck envelope (which ever one contains the problem area) and increase the strength slightly. 1.1 or 1.2 should do it. Think this should help
dpcaltdcah
ok, that worked. but then when I closed the group again and moved him again, his bones separated from the mesh and moved at a different speed somewhere else.
Paul Twyman
Have you scaled the figure correctly to your units using figure mode (figure modes not still on is it??) in the biped panel? There's a tutorial here on the aXYZ website that tells you exactly what to do. http://www.axyz-design.com/axyz-design-3d-humans-characters-products-tutorials.php?ccSID-d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e=5f7918f48a69bba9859d2270618145f3 make sure you follow it exactly, you then may have to do what i said previously in order to get those problem vertices to follow the rest. If it's grouped it should just be the biped grouped without the mesh, the mesh should follow the bones without being selected. Hope this helps. dpcaltdcah
yes, that's the first thing we did. and we followed very carefully. I emailed the guy from axyz and he said you just should't group them. you should use the move all mode instead. that seems dumb but it works. Paul Twyman
Yeah i noticed it says to do that now, it definietly used to say "select all the bones and create a group" i just had a look at the pdf i downloaded at the time. Oh well, as long as they're working

Devin Johnston
This is how I move them around, it seem to work in most cases. 1. select xxxx-bip 2. go to motion pannel 3. under biped select load file 4. select approprate .bip file 5. set amimation to frame 0 6. under layers select "create layer" 7. move character to desired location 8. under key infor click "set key" This works for me I hope it works for you, I do wish that AXYZ could come up with a plugin that made these figures as easy to use as RPC's.
