Exellite
Sorry if this has been asked before, I did do a search but couldn't find anything usefull. A Client wants a render to be printed on A4, bit like a glossy photo, so I went into photoshop and opened a new doc using the A4 preset, that resolution is 3508 x 2480 @ 300pixals per inch. That seems massive to me!!, its that really required to get a good print or could I afford to lower it? Render time is a problem as this is needed for Monday and its not ready for rendering yet, so if I can cut down that resolution but still keep a fairly clean image that would be great. Thanks in advance for any help received Mark
JamesTaylor
you can probably reduce your DPI to 150 and get away with it, obviously the lower your resolution the poorer image will be
STRAT
it's the standard, but yes, you could easily get away with smaller without too much noticable difference if you have to. try 2000x1500.
chiquito
150 dpi prints almost the same as 300dpi, print out both of them and compare. At least for me it works fine with 150, 2500x1850 should give you a nice render size to work either A3 or A4.
Exellite
thanks for the replies, I've decided to render @ 1240 x 1754 which is A4 @ 150ppi. thanks again
Mat@MDI-Digital
1240 x 1754 - id say thats way to low....my test renders are larger than that id go for atleast 2000 wide
STRAT
i agree. for full A4 printing that is rather low.
Exellite
you know what, I'm just going to stick with the original 3508 x 2480. The 1 thing I dont want is for it to come back because it doesn't look good and I then have to re-render. cheers for all your input
