Daniel
If you use Adobe Photoshop to give your images the final touch you should have a look at psd-manager from cebas. This is a VIZ plug-in that will create very usefull PSD files. E.g. it produces accurate masks for objects that you can use to tweak specific parts of your image. (e.g. change the color tone of all windows, place people behind handrails). Those maks are created on the fly so you don't need to render additional passes. Another thing is that it creates PSD layers for render elements. So if you render to render elemnts you only have to open the produced PSD file and everything is already setup. It's a big time saver for all those last minute changes and as far as I know the only PSD exporter for VIZ. Daniel
kid
thanks for the info. Doesn't Viz have Render Elements?
Daniel
Of course VIZ has Render Elements but its quite tedious to get them into Photoshop and to setup all the layers, blending modes and transparency options. (For some Render Elemnts you need the alpha for some not...) If you can get it with the click of a button you will use it more often and can concentrate on the creative side. bigcahunak
Hi Daniel. I was looking at it when it was released, and it really does sound like a great product. Only problem I see is the luck of support for render elements and G-buffer output for VRay and Brazil, which maybe isn't Cebas's fault but it still doesn't function... I wonder if PSD manager wil be integrated into fR stage1... being from Germany, and advertising on your first post... could you have any info about it? Daniel
VRay and Brazil do not / or not fully suport the 3ds max render elemnts and G-Buffer. Maybe this improves in future versions (as this also affects Combustion support in the same way as psd-manager). Cebas announced that psd-manager will be a part of GhostPainter 2, so why should it be a part of Stage1 ? Daniel
