hi all...

thrz a small problem with rpc...

they flicker in vray exterior animation..

i have workd the file in max8 and vray 1.47.03

vray settings are..

Image sampler : Adaptive subdivision 0,2

first gi engine irriandance map

second gi engine lightcache.

irrandance map preset : verylow(low configure system in my office)

lightcache : 800 , sample size: 0.02. and the scale is in screen mode.

though i didnt create vrmap coz of lesstime. i have created vrl map for every 50th frame of my 3000 frame animation.

thts it friends....normal vray settings but gettng flickering in static rpc.

they dissappear in a frame and appear after 10 frames in my animation.

is there any setting in rpc controls or in vray by wihch we can contrl this happeing(flickering of rpc.)

please assist me as therez a deadline to meet.... :-(

thanks in advance....

If you want to use RPCs with vray, dont render them with your geometry, first render the geometry alone, then render RPCs alone with alpha channel and finally compose. (use matte option for shadows and objects in front of rpcs) ;)

Ok first step: render your scene without RPCs, (save your rendered images files in a separate folder)

then Render it with RPCs but converting all geometry (unless rpcs) to matte object (vray props) -make sure alpha contribution is -1, shadow and affect alpha activated.

Make sure that Rpcs are included in light (lights exclude them by default) and cast shadows is checked in all of them

Render scene again and save files in a format with alpha channel (png is my favorite)

Now you have 2 animations, you must compose them in premiere or another editing software.

I think is the easiest way to work vray and rpcs. hope you got it. ;)
