Macer
Hi Guys, I know that this has been asked before - and answered, but I don't think that it applied to version 3.5 of Mental Ray: 'Are there any tutorials or would someone be so kind as to explain the basic steps of using of HDRI in MR 3.5.' I understand the theory of how it works in V-ray (plenty of tutorials available for that!) but I can't get a HDRI working to provide lighting, reflections and the background in MR? Can it actually be used for lighting without any other lights (eg, just hdri in mr skylight mapslot)? Help me please! I would really appriecate any suggestions. Cheers, Mark
Macer
Thanks for the prompt response Brian. I will definately look into buying your tutorials soon - I didn't realise they were so affordable! Cheers, Mark
juanmolina
just add the hdr to the enviroment and maybe play with the RGB level (under output parameters) for what you'll have to instance the map onto you material editor. You can also add a skylight and instance again the map slot I hope this helps
