laumikey
Hi, new to the forum, I've just started using vray and trying to get my head round it... are there any books or tutorials on vray 1.5 that are available? thanks
godchi86
I'm in a very similer situation to yourself and i am currently working on lighting in vray! At first i tried looking for books and things to help me but i found that the best thing to do is post up your questions on here and search for tutorials on the internet! A few good sites: http://www.evermotion.org/index.php?unfold=tutorials http://www.aversis.be/extra_tutorials/00.htm http://www.vray-materials.de/ These should get you started, they really helped me! mr. a
U could also try the online training through Vismasters (I think) and the Gnomon DVDs on GI (int and ext). As with all things, you'll find that some people have a way of explaining things better than others. Good luck.......It starts looking like English after reading things a few times. mushir_q
Well. Join vray training offer by Vismasters. Trust me you'll get which you never thought of. Brian Smith rocks man. He is the man who knows in and outs of vray. He can tel you the way to accelerate render speed without comprimising the quality. Above that its not that expensive. All the best... Cocytus09
The Vismasters On-line Training for VRAY is awesome! If there's anyone out there questioning wether to register for the course or not.... well... NIKE said it best, "Just do it". It's money VERY well spent. There's tons of information shared on the course, you have access to great on-line videos with detailed explanations on different aspects of VRAY, and the private forum that only current students/graduates get to access has tons of great info, which is great because you get questions posted by other users that you might not have thought of just yet, but you know that the information provided will be used to your benefit in the future. Make sure to take lots of notes too!
flipper
I can highly recommend The Vismasters On-line Training. It present a perfect balance between the theory behind and the practical use of Vray. I can't imagine a better way to learn it Flipper
Fran
I can recommend Chris Nichol's Interior GI dvd from Gnome.
mushir_q
Chris Nichol's Interior GI dvd are good enough. But I must say they are very advanced. Its not good for a starter where as Brian smith teaches very basics of vray to start with . Once you'll be having understanding of different controls then only you can play around with diffrenet settings.
geardaddy1
I agree with mr. a - get the Gnomon DVD's Global Illumnation:Interiors and Exteriors. They are great.
jer25
I've purchased the DVD's from Gnomon and taken the VRay training through VisMasters. I recommend both. They are both great teachers. The course goes into more depth and focuses more on using VRay in a fast production environment. Also you get to talk to Brian directly and ask him anything you want. He doesn't continue until everyone has a clear understanding of what he's teaching. Another bonus to this is that he's using the most recent version, where as the DVD's were developed before VRay 1.5 so it doesn't include some features. If you are decide to do one, I'd suggest the course. It costs more but you also get more. And it is a very decent price. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
