Geoffc
Is there a way to change the origin point in max to a different Z coordinate? So when I merge something in, or draw a max object, or do the arc-rotate, it defaults to the higher level?
Tommy L
You can create a grid...?
Geoffc
ok, I think I got it. Creating a grid at a higher z coord will allow me to create all new objects at that grid. But merging existing objects in will still only bring them in back at the 0,0,0 point, even if the custom higher grid is activated. ... being a cad junkie, ive never been forced to learn this stuff. Tommy L
You could xref scene the new objects then attach a helper to move the xreffed scene. Then any ammendments are done to the xref and the changes will be real-time at a different 0,0,0 point. Its difficult to give you an answer when the specifics of the task are a bit vague. I guess a simple answer is, no, I dont know how to move the origin point.
