Question on finding subjects for renders

Hey everybody...

I'm new to Arcviz and I'm trying to get a portfolio put together. I have no experience as an actual architect. It's been no problem finding inspiration for interiors and residential stuff, but I want to add someything larger to the portfolio... a shopping center, large office building, industrial park, etc.

Even some office interiors would be cool.

My problem is, I can't seem to find any magazines, websites, etc. that pertain to these types of structures... somewhere that I can find photos or floorplans from which I can model a similar scene.

Anyone have any clues for me as to where to look for inspiration on these types of renders? Especially office buildings and office interiors/cubefarms.

You guys rock. Thanks.

http://www.greatbuildings.com has some plans, though not complete sets of construction docs. There used to be more, but now the civilized world is afraid of information. It could get into the wrong hands, you know.

There are some great monograph books on the works of famous architects, and some of these have more complete drawings, though they are on paper. You'd have to scan them and scale to work from them. Still, it might be a good way for you to start since people in architecture would know those buildings, and could tell that you did a good job of illustrating them.

Also--there are plans for many commercial buildings on the property's website, and if not there, on their real estate agent's site. Plus photos of the building.
