Matte Shadow and Exposure Control

Greetings, all.

I am battling with a model I'm trying to Composite into a photo.

Using Matte/Shadow on the ground planes to allow the photo to receive shadows from the model.

However, the Radiosity solution is too dark if I use any other Exposure Control than Logarithmic. It pulls out detail in the deep shadows, but then it also messes up the Matte Shadow by making it seem to self-illuminate.

Can't find anything anywhere to eliminate this.

Anybody else had this?

OK - Found the solution, in case anyone else wants to know later:

In the Matte/Shadow material, set as follows:

Opaque Alpha: OFF

Receive Shadows: ON

Affect Alpha: ON

This leaves the Matte/Shadow material invisible with Logarithmic active.

Strangely, ONLY Logarithmic works - all the others just flash and don't actually render an image.
