Bar Interior

Hi,

The image attached is a conceptual render of space in a bar that i am designing. Im quite happy with the render as it is the best i have produced so far since i started teaching myself Vray.

Something that im not sure about is the speckled areas near the window on the left hand side.

Any advise on improvements and techniques would be greatfully received.

Cheers,

Richie

I have attached my newest render that has altered colour mapping, the light in the scene is not as intense which i think looks more realistic, im still having problems with the noise type effect!

The resolution on this one is smaller to save time rendering.

Any ideas?

its coming along nice but to me it is looking a bit flat and the colours are a bit soft. May be try giving it a bit of a lift with say maybe give the floor more glossiness and allow a bit of reflection.

What will the bar counter be made of? It seemsquite long and doesnt seem to be well supported. What materials do you have in mind to build it? Just curious

Not sure as of yet? The bar is at a conceptual stage at the minute, im sorting out layouts and spacial arrangments.

Would you suggest a particular material?

There may need to be drinks storage benieth the bar??

Oh okay I see. Sorry didnt mean to jump the gun and start criting your work at conceptual stage.

Bar material would depend on the budget, normally if I do something for a client I would suggest fancy materials, but if I do it for a friend or for myself then I cheap it out.

If you want beverage storage underneath then you're obviously going to close it off underneath so the fridge wont be visible from the front, I reckon then it would be nicely supported, and you could go for duco sprayed medium density fibre (supawood) , that curve on the end is going to be tricky. Those curves are easier on thicker objects.

That would be the cheapest solution, they teach us to think cheap here in south Africa :p

Hi

Why dont you carry the frosted effect around to the underside of the bar and have it back lit.

Hi

Heres a couple of examples, basic but Iam at work at the moment .

I prefer the look of the vraylight (kept visible), there might be better ways of doing it but Iam new to vray also

if you have a shaped front then applying the vray light material would be your better option

The frosted material was from a free plug in from the link below

I like the look of the vray light too, i was going to try the same thing when i get back to my work!

How does this plug-in work? is it just a material?

Cheers for the help!

When you run the download it drops itself into the Material/map browser (mdsFrostedGlass) so you can select it just like vrayMtl or any of the others. It has a slider so you can change the frost opacity allows you to add bump and alter the IOR and effect shadows.

It also gives you a chrome and aluminium material along the same lines but not sure about these yet.
