bheware
Hi there! I am using maxwell for some time and it seems I cant get caustic effect. How can I get caustic on my render? Here is render at which I want caustics. Please help!
AJLynn
You've got caustics, they're just really diffuse. You'll need more direct light to get sharp caustics.
bheware
Oh, I do? Hmm, I guess caustics depends on SL? Right? How high SL must be than?
AJLynn
That varies. But this is, what, skydome lighting? You're only going to see very weak, diffuse caustics however long you let it render.
dave davidson
try a cube as an emitter inside an open cone ( with the normals facing inwards) that is reflective to act as a spot light and aim it at the objects, this will give you caustics that will show up fast
