Jason Matthews Posted January 27, 2004 Share Posted January 27, 2004 Can someone tell me how to get a realistic grass. I have tried everything I know how. Maybe I don't do something correctly. I don't know. I am using regular Viz, prob. radiosity, scanline renderings. I do not have any work to look at, but I was hoping that I could get some settings and then apply them. Psychoscorpic Posted February 7, 2004 Share Posted February 7, 2004 I have gone away from using tiled maps for terrain and switched to Procedurals for this. It eliminates the tiling issues, and allows use of Noise etc to introduce fractal complexity to the grass etc, as seen in nature. (Colour variations, length of grass variations, density of grass/worn patches etc) Does cause a bit of rendertime hit, but it is well worth it in the end.
