Why don't you try Illustrate! 5? It's great for toon renders.

You could, also, re-import your model into AutoCAD and take a hidden perspective. Then, you can paint it with Photoshop the way you like better.

You could also take a look at some other Photoshop techniques. I'm pretty sure there's something that'll fit your needs.

Look at SketchUP. You can export your model from Viz into SketchUP and get what it sounds like you are looking for. Variable lines with extensions and line weights.

I know it isn't free but if you learn fast, you can download the trial which is completely functional for 8 hours. Probably long enough for you to get what you need.

 

P.S. It really is a fun program and well worth the money IMO.
