chadw
I have a file in 3dmax 9 which today has decided to crash every 30 sec or so. Was working on it yesterday and had no issue...... I have tried merging it into a new file, as well as merging only parts and leaving out others. Try as I might it keeps crashing. Is there some way that I can purge or audit a 3dmax file? thanks much
diegofer_9
Hey Chad, There's no purge as far as I know, but if you are suing DirectX as the Display, you might want to try and switch to OpenGL. It works for me for whatever reason. Just go to Customize/Preferences and you will find it there, You'll have to close and re-open max. Let us know if it works for you. Best, D. chadw
WOW..... so I was able to change my graphic setup, however that crashes my computer everytime I open the problem file. I should say I am running Vista w/ Max 9 (I do have ALL of the updates and support packs)... I am going to trying running the file on an XP machine and see if that helps. Any other suggestions???? gfa2
Try software mode instead of Direct3D or OpenGL. That should really dummy it down. It'll be slow as hell, but it may work.
