Josh1587140445
Is it possible to Mesh an Xref? When I try to it just does not look like it is doing it. I am using the Xref funciton because I have 3 different building designs on the same site with the same footprint. So instead of having 3, 70Mb files, I opted for 1 and 3 2Mb files. It sucks redoing the radiosity solution everytime, but it just seems a little quicker.
Eric
Yes, it's possible. I do it on almost every rendering project. You won't see the radiosity mesh unless you click the "Display radiosity mesh in viewport" box. Also, if you model is particularly small, your global subdivision settings might be too large of an increment. You can crank down the subdivision settings to a few inches (or the metric equivalent) and click the radiosity process button.
abicalho
Enable Meshing in the Radiosity Panel. It meshes all mesh, regardless of where it comes from. But keep in mind that by using Xrefs the solution will be lost when you Save the file. Alexander
Eric
Hmm, I've never noticed loosing the meshing when I save the file. Only when I reload the xref in VIZ. I think it will show a different icon on the file inside the xref manager if the .dwg file is more recent than the version linked into viz, but unless you actually hit the reload button, I don't think it will loose the mesh. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am.
