Hello, yesterday i was making small test on vray light and vray mtl- material - to understand better reflections and light. i was shocked when i did my first render my vraylight was +[invisible]+ in its settings, but in my mirror was visible ( mirror material is simple vray-mtl with white color in reflect slot and black color in diffuse), any help or advise - my files is attached- i used 3dstudio max 8, + Vray 1.5 RC3. THANK YOU.!!

Hey, i was having the same problem a while ago, try unchecking the affect specular box and see what happens. From what i uderstand whats happening is meant to be happening. Your not seeing the acutal vray light, but its specular in your mirror. Checking invisible does make your v-ray light invisible, but you still get the diffuse and specular lighting and thats what your seeing i think. Theres a work around if you still want your specular to occur on your other materials as unchecking the affect specular box will remove all spec info for that light from your scene.

Try this and let me know how you go. If any of the more advanced Vray users are on, please correct me if im wrong.

No problem, but just remember that unchecking that bx means you wont be getting any of the specular reflections from that light appearing on any other materials and objects in your scene, there is a work around for this tho. Enjoy
