Hello, yesterday i was making small test on vray light and vray mtl- material - to understand better reflections and light. i was shocked when i did my first render my vraylight was +[invisible]+ in its settings, but in my mirror was visible ( mirror material is simple vray-mtl with white color in reflect slot and black color in diffuse), any help or advise - my files is attached- i used 3dstudio max 8, + Vray 1.5 RC3. THANK YOU.!!

Hi Tarek, This scenario happened to me before, what I did was uncheck the affect specular from my vray light, then the reflection of the vray light will not be visible anymore, I hope this would help you. Thanks and God Bless.:)

This is a problem I am having:

Created object (renderable spline converted to poly) running through what I will eventually turn into a tunnel (just gray with noise on it for tests) and picked created object into a VRayLight.

I am having the "dust" trail shown in this image when I render the object. So far I have done the following to attempt to remedy this:

  • Under traditional object properties unchecked renderable
  • Under the VRayLight options checked invisible

Any ideas on how I can loose the "dust" trail?

Make sure there is only one object in the place of converted spline. If there are two or more renderable objects (surfaces) which have exactly the same size and position, it causes similar VRay rendering errors.

Better modelling solution in this situation if you apply an sweep modifier to the editable spline, and choose an (built-in or picked) section shape.

I hope it was helpful.
