mare96
what are the advantages of using vray sun/sky/pysical cam in conrtast with a simple target light?i tried to render an exterior scene with both of them and had the same results.the problem was that in the first case there were many and difficult settings. so...? chiquito
OPTIONS. I would say that is the advantage. I believe its the control you get with one and the other those difficult settings are the ones that will give you the exact shot you are looking, its like comparing a professional photo camara with a cheap disposabel one, of course you can get exelent results with the cheap camara and crappy results with the good one. But the difference, at least for me is getting to know why are there some many options, (option and not difficulties) on the other. Try playing wit some variables and try matching them with a target light... you will see that even if its hard to get the precise setting you are looking for, eventually you will be much more analitic on the look and mood you are trying to get. For me its still har to get tyhere. but I rather see it as a possibility and noy an anoying task

Sawyer
Its a different workflow and a different way to approach your work. I don't think anyone should think that it is a mandatory process it is a new tool. One of the 3das Brian's said it best if you are not familiar with a regular slr camera and how it works you may find it is a workflow that you don't want to learn. Personally I believe many architectural photographers would love all of the work arounds we have to get good lighting.
