yes.

first off, thin out the birds and take out the rear lot. they just show up as exact duplicates as the front lot. and make it look like a mass migration.

second, you need to equalize the lighting with your photoshopped work and your render - all the people look completely inappropriately lit and the lower ones need a soft shadow or some ao to fix them to the scene.

thirdly, vary things. the rocks have all the same material. vary them. the palms - rotate them and mix the greenery so they don't all look identical. the 3 trees are exactly the same. vary them a bit and make their lighting more equal to the rest of the scene.

i'd also slightly lower your kerb height, make the white lines a bit thinner and give the road a more 'tarmac' texture.

(also doesn't help posting an extremely low jpg compressed image)

i think the general lighting and modeling is superb, it just needs a few post elements worked on to make it even nicer.

i agree about the trees.

one other thing is that i would change the guy on the balcony he looks totally out of place in this scene.

other than that i think it is a stunning image. i have saved it to my inspiration folder!

did you use vray? it would be nice to know your settings.

The sun angle is very low which is really making the lighting interesting and giving nice tone to the materials. I think what you could do with is a large complex shadow cast from the other side of the street, maybe a large tree or interesting building (windmill?). This could give a greater implication of depth and meaning to the image. Just an idea.

And yes, work on the people.

Thanks for your comments so far; yes the people were dropped in there very quickly on friday evening, I was still in the office at 9pm trying to get it finished of before going out on the beer. And yes the image does suffer from a lack of variation which I will work on this week to improve tings. I used C4D / final render 2 / photoshop... not vray.. sorry!
