the_tomohawker
Hi. What is the best way to use HDRI lighting? I've used a Vray dome light with a HDRI file in the texture slot. I drag an instance to the material editor and browse to the HDRI file but I never get the options to change the black/white point. This applies to the a new material I create using the VRayHDRI map also (no option to change black/white points or other settings). However, if I create a new VRayMtl and set a bitmap in the diffuse slot using a HDRI file I get the options to change the HDRI settings. A bit odd don't you think. I would have thought that selecting a HDRI specific material would at least give you the option to change the HDRI specific settings. Any suggestions? Am I using the HDRI files in the best way? jophus14
I know that you had that option in Vray 1.47 but I was never able to do it when I started using Vray 1.5. Maybe it has to do something with the new updated version of Vray.
the_tomohawker
i hear ya jophus14 but why would it let you change the hdri settings through the bitmap option and not the hdri option? seems a bit odd although i still think i may be doing something wrong.
