louis.cho
I always have this problem when my scene begin to be more complex. I am good to manage my models, I give them revelent names and keep them on separate layers. Same for lights. I another thing when I work with textures. It's not take very long that my material browser look like a junkyard! I use max9 but I think the problem is not due to the software but my way to work with texture. do you have multi-material for all furnishing, one for environment and so on or each furnishing have it's own? What the way to work with the library? do you make one for each project or you pick the brick there and wood there...? I know there is not only one solution, as always, but i think it's will be usefull for many. thanks

Tommy L
I think the mat editor can be as messy as you like. The mat browser gets messy if you are browsing the scene, I dont think you can do much about that if your scene is complex. I tend to identify scene materials using the eye-dropper. Make sure you bank all your good materials in relevent libraries and keep your bitmaps organized. Then the browser is used primarily for browsing libraries.
