zatoichi
1. I am making a display cabinet with 18mm thk glass shelving with pinlight above the cabinet. My problem is that the light does not pass through my glass shelf. I am using a standard vray glass material (fresn refl=on, ior=1.6, etc.), hdri environment and ies lighting.. Any solutions? 2. Can i still use vray 1.46 if i upgrade to studio max 9? 3. Is there any site that provides free 2d images of people for post processing renderings? Thanks. RTurner
Make the properties of the shelving so that it does not cast shadows!
sterealkey
In the refraction section of your glass material you'll find a tick box "affect shadows", make sure its ticked, by default its not ticked. That will sort it out I'm sure
Mechadus
Unless you need the caustic effects, also uncheck Generate & Receive GI, and Visible to GI in the Vray properties for the glass objects - this will prevent them form 'sucking up' GI -Nick
zatoichi
I think checking the affect shadow box works only in the latest version of vray. Im still using vray 1.46. Anyway by unchecking the cast shadows in the object properties actually solves the problem . Thanks
