THEPRAYINGMANTIS
I’m rendering an interior scene that has nature light coming thru very large widows on both sides of the room. There also light fixtures basically spotlight aimed towards the wall upward all around the perimeter. When I render the scene I want the spotlight to brighten (wall wash?) the immediate area along the wall but it doesn’t show anything. Basically I want the hotspot to be visible. The lights are on and the ies file is loaded. I’m using vray to render. What am I doing wrong?
andreg
is your light inside your ceiling geometry? or it could be your IES file lightbeam thats too narrow and only hitting the floor

THEPRAYINGMANTIS
I'm sorry, no the light is not inside the ceiling geometry, it is well below the ceiling. The spot lights are aimed upwards towards the wall. These light fixtures are wall sconces not ceiling spot lights. They just don't seem to be casting any light towards the wall. AJLynn
Are you using a Vray physical camera that's calibrated to outdoor use, and maybe the spotlights have their levels too low?
