FlytE
Question, does anyone know if vray 1.5 works with viz 2007? For some reason Im having real problems getting it installed and its leading me to think there is a compatability issue....
chodney
It does work. you have to make sure you download the version for Max 9 from Chaosgroup. We had issues at work until we did this and reinstalled.
AJLynn
Viz2007 uses Max8 plugins, yes? And Viz2008 uses Max9 plugins...
FlytE
Yes it appears that is the case... but I have a new problem! It appears that when you have viz 2008 and max9 installed at the same time, you cannot install vray for both. It appears to overwrite the previous installation making it only available for 1 of the 2 programs. Might this be something to do with the registry? Vlado posted the procedure at the Chaos Group forum. Don't quote me, but when the install tells you that another version of vray is already installed and states that you have to uninstall it first, I think you select cancel and it will continue to install. Best to check for Vlado's post.
FlytE
AH right... I had a look and couldnt find anything.... but I found a work around anyway. I had to copy the chaos group files in the program files directory into a renamed folder and install to there, then reinstall back to the max one. Once this was done I could then copy the vray files from max back to the viz folder and everything worked fine. Good to know there is probably an easier way next time. Thanks! Ray
As re-installs are inevitable, here's Vlado's post: http://www.chaosgroup.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17378&highlight=install
