Books on traditional arch-viz

Do you have any books to recommend that deal with the subject of traditional architectural rendering. Something that doesn't necessarily focus on a specific technique but more on the basics like for example, the composition of the elements in a rendering?

Nah, this is not exactly what i meant. This book deals with the principals of 3d lighting, and i think it focuses more on digital sets and characters than architecture (if it deals with architecture at all, it's been a while since i've read it).

I saw one book when i was in my uni, but i forgot the name of it. I think it was published in the early 90s, because as far as i remembered it mentions something about computer renderings, but it deals mostly with traditional stuff. For example there was a chapter that described the order of elements in a composition, where should you place the tree in the foreground, what kind of perspective to choose and things like that.

Architectural Delineation...Ernest Burden? My father's book, it was used a lot at arch.schools. There's also several books by Frank Ching that are amazing, though I don't think he got much into composition. There's the old workhorse on rendering by Halse from the 50's (damned good book still) plus a number of books be current renderers like Thom Schaller and Richard Rochon and Phillipe Crowe, and a few more.

What was in the book you remember?

You might look at Julius Schulman (sp?) photography, doesn't get a lot better for Architecture imo. Also, here in LA we have a book store called Hennesy and Engles (again spelling  ) that stocks a lot of Architecture books.

Hope that helps.
