Athena
I'm having some problems with my columns. I've built them in Viz and used a 60 face mesh for them. I've excluded them from the specular lights in my model, given them a mesh of 6" and also added extra iterations. The only time I can get the shinyness to go away is when I run radiosity with regather. However, regather takes too much time to render images, so I have to use direct illumination. Can anyone out there help me? Athena
Fran
Hi Athena, What is the specular and glossiness value of your column material? Could you post a render that shows the situation?
stefkeB
If you want to control the specularity seperately, try to set your regular light to not be specular and add an extra light, just for specularity that doesn't have diffuse lighting. That way you can control both seperately (that is, upper specularity without increasing the overal (diffuse) lighting. And if you mean caustic effects: that's not supported in VIZ/max scanline renderer
