DR Client question

Hello,

I just figured out how to work the DR with VIZ 2007 (it took some tweaking). I work in an office with a couple dozen of computers and thought I would try turning 3 or 4 of them into clients. I am having a few problems.

1). In the 'Applications' of Cntrl+Alt+Del, 3D studio is always running on the clients. Even if I stop it, it still runs. It has to do with it writing a vraydummy60.max and vrml file to the C root drive. Why is it doing this?

2). Sometimes on the host machine, while rendreing out the IR maps, it will skip the majority of the buckets and replace them with the background (blue).

3). How do I post on the chaos forumn? I have had an active account for a few months now, but still need 'special permisions' to post. What's up?

Thanks!

Aaron

if you have registered the spawner as a service that's what it does. you can remove it though, and then run it manually on each client when you do dr.

no idea, maybe a bit more info would help.

your best bet it's to write chaos directly, or send a pm to vlado over at the forums.

edit:

just in case you missed it:

Thanks a lot for your help, rivoli!

I have attached a picture of my second problem (the blue buckets).

There are 3 pictures throughout the stage of the render (IR and QMC)

It appeared as if the computer with the name ending in '61' was the culprit, as it completely overtook the last picture. When I disconnected it, the whole farm ran fine.

Why would one computer cause a problem like this?

Thanks!

Aaron
