David
I consider myself to be fairly experienced in using VIZ 4 radiosity (I have produced numerous simulations for lighting designers), but have stumbled across something that has me completely stumped! I have rendered a model using the IES sunlight, and am very happy with the result. I have now saved a copy of the model which I wish to render using just the IES Sky tool. The problem is that my renders come out completely pitch black! I have tried all of the remedies I can think of(physical scale, brightness, multiplier etc.) and I'm sure the answer is very simple ... but I just can't seem to solve this! Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance, Dave
JHalton
mmm, With you been experienced I cant really offer anything that you would'nt have already tried. I sometimes I try and render when I have the camera stuck in a wall? This creates blackness. Dunno, I'd like to know what your problem was when you sort it out. William Alexander
Environment- Lighten the ambient light. Psuedo Color exposure tool, to see iff there is any indication of light. Play with the scales. Try turning off cast shadows and see if there is light. Try a render with a perspective view, view port clipping if needed. Import all objects into to new scene, maybe a new camera. The above are trouble shooting ideas, no particular order. The solutions are for the IES Daylight lighting. I believe if using the daylight system and turning off the sun, the sky is also off. But don't quote me on that. rgrds WDA
Iain Denby
I've created a scene and lit it using radiosity, and when I revert back to std lights it goes weird! Merge everything into a new scene, and that might sort your problem out.
